A piece of Murdoch merde – Rupert lectures twitter users about civility

Rupert Murdoch: Seems impossible to have civilised debate on twitter. Ignorant, vicious abuse lowers whole society, maybe shows real social decay.

Being admonished from the man whose organisation hacked into the phone of a murdered girl…
from the man whose editors (possibly, allegedly paid police informations for information or possibly lose information, it has been claimed)…
from the man whose newspaper reported on the deaths of 97 football fans in the Hillsborough disaster April 19, 1989 this way, 97 people crushed to death or killed in other horrific ways, and Murdoch’s newspaper responds by attacking the football fans that tried to help the victims

For a more detailed explanation of what happened that day: The Murdoch Virus Part 2 – Hillsborough from The Daily Derp. This shows why the refusal to hand over our money to any Murdoch organisation is important.

In this video, Alexei Sayle’s Liverpool – Don’t Buy The Sun: Sayle returned to Liverpool and in an experiment, in one newsagency, tried to entice customers to take a copy of The Sun, the reaction there to that newspaper was they wouldn’t even accept it when it was offered free.

We should all learn about Hillsborough, not to gain entertainment from other people’s tragedy. But to educate ourselves on just how low Murdoch and his minions sink when they publish headlines like ‘The Truth’ about 97 dead football fans.

And if that doesn’t make some people question just what spin stories in Australian media outlets is getting. Are we getting the Australian equivalent of “97 die in horrific tragedy, a nation grieves” or are we getting “football fans pickpocket victims”?

We should know that every time we buy a Murdoch newspaper, visit a Murdoch website, watch Foxtel or any of the other myriad business’s he owns or part owns, we are giving this our approval… and Murdoch our money.
