Yes, George Megalogenis writes for Murdoch’s The Australian, but of course that would play no part in statement, but in whose mind are these even comparable – it is not a left / right issue – or it shouldn’t be. Is this The Australian writer telling us that Rebekah Brooks and her Murdoch papers are right? and to question that, or tell the truth that she was arrested, is seen by the Right as being an attack against them?
Perhaps to someone on the Right, the truth that one of their own was arrested for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice is no different from G Morris wanting to kick the Prime Minister to death.
Of course, one is charged with heinous crimes, and presided over a newspaper at the time they were hacking into the phone of a murdered girl… the other is the Prime Minister of our nation.
And to the culture warriors on the Right think they are comparable?
