Tony Abbott’s refugee policy: If that means deaths at sea continue, so be it

An end to the blame game Peter Van Onselen: The Australian June 26, 2012 12:00AM
One well-placed Liberal source told The Australian that Abbott would rather see Labor continue to bleed politically with ongoing boat arrivals. If that means deaths at sea continue, he said, so be it. Perhaps Abbott thinks such tragedies reflect more badly on Labor than his own side

This is not a direct quote from Tony Abbott, this is a description from someone of Abbott’s attitude. But for any politician to bank on getting the keys to the lodge by people dying – is that really someone we want to represent us?

Van Onselen is no fan of the Labor party. Neither is The Australian. Maybe The Australian thinks this “let em drown” attitude will sell papers, it certainly is generating clicks.

As Craig Thomson said “Leader of the Opposition, that man, not only is he unfit to be a prime minister, in my view he is unfit to be an MP”.

  1. And that just truly reflect the real nature of Phoney Tony. He’ll do anything to gain the Prime Ministership even stooping so low as to allow deaths to continue to occur. Was is even more disgusting is that his NO Coalition compatriots are allowing this behaviour to occur — what does that say about them?
