Brumbys and Bickfords made a choice: they prefer Tony Abbott to their customers

Brumbys Bakeries, in an internal memo has told their franchisees

“We are doing an RRP (recommended retail price) review at present which is projected to be in line with CPI (Consumer Price Index), but take the opportunity to make some moves in June and July
…Let the carbon tax take the blame, after all your costs will be going up due to it.”

Part of the Retail Food Group:
is the intellectual property owner and manager of the successful franchises and brands
Donut King, Michel’s Patisserie, Brumby’s Bakeries, bb’s cafe, Esquires and Big Dad’s Pies, also Brumbys GO! and Pizza Caper.

Unfortunately, any boycott of these RFG brands is only likely to hurt franchise-owners who had nothing to do with the memo, but if you do boycott, let them know why (website here: Retail Food Group), perhaps they can be shamed into a public retraction or donation to an environmental group.

And here is Tony Abbott’s stunt of this morning, a press conference (early election campaigning) at Bickford’s a drink producer.

They support Tony Abbott, who will you support?

  1. Have they are been reported to the ACCC. If true this is an actionable breach with quite substantial financial penalties.
