What we missed when the Australian media was distracted by Football matches and Carbon tax lies

The Australian media are so easily distracted. The stunted Tony Abbott turns up at a work place, hard hat optional, he refuses to answer questions, and the media fall all over themselves repeating what “Tony Abbott says”.

However, on the other side of the world:

David Cameron is prepared to override Britain’s historic obligations under EU treaties and impose stringent border controls that would block Greek citizens from entering the United Kingdom, if Greece is forced out of the single currency.

The prime minister told MPs that ministers have examined legal powers that would allow Britain to deprive Greek citizens of their right to free movement across the EU, if the eurozone crisis leads to “stresses and strains”.

Shhh, no one tell the Liberal and National parties, or they will try something similar here. Blocking refugees for not being Australian enough, if Abbott ever gets the keys to the Lodge.
